Metallic Gold Dragonfly
This is just some random photo from the internet, but yesterday, I saw a metallic gold dragonfly in the garden. It was so gold and so metallic that it looked fake. I did not have my phone with me, but even if I did, it moved off so fast that I could not have photographed it.
If I were a conspiracy theorist, I might think it was a government surveillance device.

Japanese Maple
One is looking much healthier than the other.
The dead one was a $400 value door prize from Monrovia at Boerner several years ago.
Very disappointing. The combination of polar vortex and verticillium wilt is a killer.
Elderberry
The native Elderberry.
And it all descends from that original single stem that was given to us by The Village all those years ago on Arbor Day. The gift that just keeps on giving.
